The study of feedback, control, and communication in systems — machines, organisms, and organizations alike.
Cybernetics is where a lot of my other interests actually connect — feedback loops, the Viable System Model, and how systems (technical or organizational) regulate themselves. I keep coming back to it because it explains failure modes that pure engineering or pure management thinking each miss on their own.
